Whiteley Warriors Basketball

Have Courage,

Be Brave,

Be Brilliant

We’re a community interest company supporting Junior national and local league, plus men and ladies local league Basketball club Est 2021 with over 300 players

Welcome to Whiteley Warriors Basketball CIC, your local community-focused basketball club dedicated to promoting the sport and fostering talent in the Whiteley area and beyond. Our mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where players of all ages and abilities can develop their skills, enjoy the game, and make lasting friendships.

Our Club and Achievements

Established with a vision to nurture young talent, Whiteley Warriors Basketball CIC has grown into a thriving community hub. With over 300 players, including 250 juniors, we are proud of our diverse and vibrant membership. Our teams compete in various leagues and tournaments, consistently showcasing the dedication and hard work of our players and coaches.

This year has been particularly successful for us. Our Under 12s team finished the season as unbeaten champions in the Solent Area Basketball Association CVL league. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the incredible support from the families of our players, who raised funds for the team's new kit and dedicated one to Sophie’s Legacy, a charity close to our hearts.

Our Ladies team had an impressive run, reaching the finals in their first season in the SABA league after finishing as runners-up. Their determination and teamwork have set a high standard for future seasons. Similarly, our Under 16s team also reached the finals for the second year in a row, securing second place in the league. These achievements highlight the consistent hard work and progress of our players and coaches.

Our Community Initiatives

At Whiteley Warriors, we believe in giving back to the community. Our Hoopz 4 Skoolz project has donated over £5,000 worth of basketball equipment to local schools, including full hoop systems. We are also committed to supporting other local clubs like the Gosport Gunners and Fareham Falcons, helping them to participate in local leagues and grow the sport in our region.

My little one loved the experience of the trials. He said, "I really wanted to get on the team so I fought for it and gave my very best". It's lovely to see a 9-year-old boy discovering his inner strength deep inside in such an experience and chasing his goals! A big thank you to all the coaches who are caring, and endlessly patient and who feed the passion for the game into our children!

Testimonials

Absolutely brilliant squad. My daughter is in the Little Warriors team and she absolutely loves it. She’s really come out of her shell and it’s given her a chance to do what she loves to do. She’s made new friends and gained so much self-confidence from being there. She can’t wait to get back on the court every weekend. I’m thankful for all that Gareth has done for the kids and bringing basketball back to the area and giving off such positive vibes to all the kids that attend!
